MYSA: premiere at the Salone in Milano

MYSA is the new collection of lounge seatings designed by Michael Schmidt for BROSS: a name meaning “cuddle” in Swedish that enhances the vocation of the product, intended to serve as a lively and comfortable support in hospitality environments, in community contexts or in the living areas of private home. Flowing lines and wraparound shapes define this program that includes a lounge chair in the version with high back and low back and a small armchair.

New materials in bathrooms: Concrete

For example, the freestanding wash basin of the Scoop collection shows the unique appearance and effect of the concrete coating, based on resin. And while exposed concrete in construction often seems cool and aloof, the furniture, lighting and accessories made of concrete or concrete coated show the sensual and warm qualities of the material.

Innovation Development for Häfele | LOOX

Product innovation is a key factor for successful brands and companies. In 2014 we initiated an “innovation process” for the next product generation for Häfele and their brand LOOX, with our partner the Fraunhofer IAO. First results will be on display at Interzum 2015.

ISH Lecture: Barrier-free bathroom design

Our society is becoming older and more heterogeneous. The debate about ‘housing for the elderly’ and the associated requirements that have to be met by architecture and design is thus developing into a paradigm shift. The lecture concerns with the question of an unrestricted usage (not only) in old age.

Frame4Rouvolet for rehau

Polymer specialist REHAU has developed together with Michael Schmidt the straight-line, delicate track for the tried and tested RAUVOLET metallic-line tambour doors, frame4. The target was quite clear: an „Innovation Design“ of a new, subtle track system.
