Sustainability: FSB 128 now in Pure aluminum!

FSB uses only aluminum for its hardware for doors and windows with a footprint of 4 kg CO₂/kg – a quarter of the global average. The new Aluminum Pure surface now saves another 37 percent of energy, as the last three steps of conventional aluminum processing are eliminated. No fine dust is created by polishing or blasting, nor is the hardware anodized.

This saves water and electricity and facilitates recycling at the end of the life cycle. Compared to other anodized aluminium surface variants of the FSB 1289 handle series, this saves an additional 37 percent energy in production. The “Pure aluminum” surface also proves how good sustainability can look.

C2D designs its first case study house

Who doesn’t long for a haven of peace? A retreat with simple elegance, reduced to the essentials, but at the same time radiating warmth and homeliness – with a conscious reduction to the essentials in order to escape the hectic world. The current design of a tiny house by Michael Schmidt and his team embodies a harmonious fusion of Japanese architecture, Scandinavian design and aesthetics with contemporary sustainability. The 30 square meter residential building, made of wooden frame construction and ecological and thermally insulating materials, sets new standards in terms of environmental friendliness and efficiency.

Design Awards for BBQubeX

The outdoor kitchen BBQube X by Michael Schmidt for OCQ wins two design awards. The GDA – German Design Award Special is joined by the ICONIC Award INNOVATIVE INTERIOR. In addition to the minimalist design (with 6 mm thick ceramic surfaces), the jury was impressed by the intelligent AllWeatherProTM ventilation concept – similar to a rear-ventilated building façade. This protects the kitchen against rain, snow, sun and ensures that condensation moisture can dry off, thus protecting the interior of the carcase. Therefore, the outdoor kitchen ensemble can be completely outdoors and does not need to be roofed.

ZERO Outdoor barstool – uncompromisingly unique

Iconic in its design and uncompromising in its function, the ZERO bar stool for OCQ is unique in the world of outdoor furniture because there are only a few stools on the market with the right seat height for outdoor kitchens with a working height of 95cm, and none of them are equipped with a comfortable and outdoor-ready seat cushion.

GDA 2023 for bbqube X outdoor kitchen

The modular outdoor kitchen bbqubeX convinced the GDA jury: Clear lines. Purist design. Robust, weather-resistant & easy to clean thanks to its innovative ceramic surfaces and an intelligent, patented ventilation concept, similar to a curtain-type rear-ventilated façade.

The bbqube X is highly customisable thanks to a wide range of selectable decors and equipment options and can be placed free-standing as an island or as a row in the garden or on the terrace.

FSB 1289: ICONIC Award 2022 + German Design Award 2023

International prizes for the design of the FSB 1289 for Franz Scheider Brakel/FSB: the ICONIC Award 2022 ‘best-of-best’ awarded for outstanding, holistic architecture and interior design as well as innovative products, and the German Design Award 2023, both presented by the German Design Council.

The expert jury’s statement: “The high-quality FSB 1289 lever handle impresses with a wonderfully clear design reduced to the essentials, combining perfectly proportioned aesthetics, ergonomics and sophisticated functionality at a high level of design and craftsmanship. A timelessly beautiful product that in both versions – polished natural anodised aluminium or blasted black anodised aluminium – suits many architectural styles and sets striking accents here.”

Flatup honoured with the German Design Award 2023

FLATup is a highboard and workplace in one and ensures that the home office is not an “office” when it is not supposed to be. When closed, FLATup is a useful and representative piece of furniture. When unfolded, it transforms into an office that temporarily turns the living space into a functional, ergonomic workplace.

Working at home should take place in the most beautiful place in the apartment, which is why the FLATup Office is mobile and thus enables you to work without looking at the wall. In addition, FLATup is completely recyclable and sustainable thanks to climate-neutral manufacturing.

PEACE please, take a seat!

The well-known peace symbol is the formal godfather for the PEACE CHAIR. Through the physical contact with the peace sign, PEACE is more than a mere symbol here: When sitting, the PEACE CHAIR provides support and gives posture. It is this very posture that is required to attain and maintain peace.

Created by artist Reiner Xaver Sedelmeier and designer Michael Schmidt, this outdoor lounge chair is also sustainable because it is made from recycled plastics. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PRODUCER FOR THE PEACE CHAIR!

Product family FSB 1289: timeless and elegant

Door handle product family FSB 1289: timeless design and at the same time expressive in a particularly elegant manner.
In fact, we are very proud to have designed this product family together with Markus Michalski/FSB. In addition to the elegant design of the door handle series, the unique consistency and formal relationship to other product groups (pull door handles and sliding door handles) should be emphasized.
